Wolf.Z E-sports Club: A Revolution in Internet Cafe Design

Uno Chan's Innovative Design Transforms the Traditional Internet Cafe Experience

The inspiration behind the Wolf.Z E-sports Club design was the evolution of Internet cafes. Once synonymous with smoke and darkness, Internet cafes have evolved to cater to a higher quality of life, becoming comfortable and safe spaces. Uno Chan took this evolution a step further, using the concept of sculpture to create a spatial planning that is both complete and interesting.

What sets the Wolf.Z E-sports Club apart from traditional Internet cafes is its focus on competition and struggle. The design aims to stimulate the desire for conquest hidden within each visitor. The space is not just about comfort but also about providing an environment that fosters excitement and victory.

The project, covering an area of 1700 square meters, was realized using materials such as brushed stainless steel, super white glass, terrazzo, transparent glass, marble, and texture paint. The space is wrapped in linear blocks of pulling and pushing, creating a new tension and landscape without interfering with the function. The simple light creates a clear space that is easy to recognize, allowing people to walk in reality and illusion, and experience the charm of virtual games.

The design of the Wolf.Z E-sports Club draws on the essence of traditional gardens, releasing a huge amount of space visually in a unique way. The project started in October 2016 in Shenzhen and was completed in March 2017. The design faced several challenges, including the placement of futuristic luminous cubes indoors to provide light and create a visual impact of the future era. The designer also added a coffee bar and texture seat in the window area to provide a platform for casual communication, adding a human warmth to the competitive environment.

Wolf.Z E-sports Club is a testament to Uno Chan's innovative design approach. It conveys a clean, cool, and powerful attitude, offering a unique experience that blends reality and illusion. The project's success is evident in its recognition at the A' Design Award, where it was awarded Silver in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2019.
